Case Study - Seaford Bonfire Society
Out of date website
When Dave the chairman of Seaford Bonfire Society first approached me he was looking for a new website solution to replace the SBS website which was in need of a revamp and was unable to meet the needs of the growing society. It became clear that the society needed a cost-effective website that was straightforward and able to be managed by one of the volunteers.
Branding Character Community
To begin Dave and I sat down and discussed what the main objectives of the site should be and the budget. I also met with Sally the events coordinator to decide which core items were to be included on the site.
It was agreed that the creation of a new contemporary inclusive website that reflected the changing face of the society from its small beginnings when it reformed in 2011 to the hugely successful event it is today was required.
When creating the concept for the site it was clear that the main factors governing the society were its brand, character and sense of community.
I focused on the SBS brand using their distinctive colour scheme as a base for the site. This enabled me to create consistent brand recognition across multiple devices.
SBS is a very individual society with some great personalities consequently I used incorporated photographs of society members into the design and used photography by society members, which boasts some very accomplished photographers.
SBS is very much a community event a factor I brought into the inclusive functional design.
Responsive contemporary website
The creation of a contemporary responsive and accessible website which reflects the character and community spirit of SBS.
